40 hours a week, 160 a month, almost 2,000 a year. We spend a lot of time at work, so it’s no surprise that we want to feel comfortable there. Interior design is important, especially during office work. What solutions should be used to make our work as efficient as possible?
More and more companies pay attention to the interior design of their offices. How we feel at the workplace is very often treated as a priority, hence the great interest in solutions that are supposed to strengthen our efficiency.
Lighting
Lighting is one of the key elements in the workplace. It cannot be too dark so that our eyes do not get tired and we do not feel sleepy. Too bright light will also be inappropriate – our eyes will be irritated, and it may lead to vision defects in the long term. It is very important to find the “golden mean”. An interesting solution is the use of light sources with adjustable colour temperature. This is because different light will have a better effect on us in winter and in summer. A solution such as the Bolero ceiling light can solve this problem. When choosing lighting for the office, it is worth choosing such LEDs. It is energy-efficient, which will reduce company expenses. Moreover, it does not heat up and does not cause excessive fatigue to our eyes. An example of such a solution are Galaxy panels by GTV, which will not disturb any space with their aesthetics. It should be remembered that regardless of the solution we choose, it is important to ensure access to a natural light source – so choose large windows that will allow the sun to enter.
Colours
When focusing on decor, let’s choose light, neutral colours. Dark shades can be irritating to some people, negatively affecting the comfort of work. Bright pastel walls can be broken with lots of plants. The green colour calms down, and the company of flowers and bushes always supports creativity. However, it is important to take care for them regularly.
Rest is essential
A trend that more and more companies are focusing on is arranging a chillout room where we can spend a break to relax from the hardships of everyday work. Non-standard solutions such as deckchairs, hammocks or unusual design elements – e.g. grass growing on the wall are used more frequently. In the case of a room intended for relaxation, we can afford more when it comes to lighting. We are only limited by creativity. An interesting idea is to use several LED lighting points in a small space to gain the effect of a shimmering room that simply encourages us to visit it. We can adjust the brightness of these points so that they are not tiring for the eye. Entertainment is also a standard – game consoles, table football and darts are no longer surprising.
The devil is in the detail
The accessory is often the culmination of the whole. Frames with photos, balls bumping against each other or anti-stress balls are things that can often be found on employees’ desks. An interesting and new idea that can be arranged in open-space rooms is that the desk does not belong to one employee – that person sits in a different place each time, which prevents the effect of fatigue and introduces an element of freshness in daily duties and space.
